Snow falling softly, coffee hot and strong.
Festivities, holiday foods, family, now settled in and down for a New Year!
Day 6, and I am just now surfacing to greet the New Year.
I am amazed that 6 days have passed, and where have they gone?
Hubby and I celebrated with a bottle of Asti, and some of the "Thin Man" movies
We did not watch the ball drop this year.
He was off for 10 days, and we just allowed the time to pass without taking any real note of it, just relaxing, and enjoying each others company.
We did a lot of talking of our life's journey, and what lies ahead to be done.
In between times, sorting out family matters.
Looking over finances, and deciding how to manage our up and coming old age retirement.
We laughed a plenty at that!
Laughter is such good medicine!
We shed a tear here and there for all those we love and hold so dear to our hearts.
No resolutions, just a strong effort to eat healthier, and hold to our core values, and take notes, and resolve what we can when we can.
One of the things that we hold so gently is the appreciation we have for all those who have worked so hard in their life!
Those who have given so much, and taken so little.
The cold winds may whisper across their graves this day, but they are remembered!!

Thought-provoking post this, especially that last bit. I guess the New Year can either be greeted as a new page in a journal to be filled, or another blasted year to get through, and how will we manage? The latter is not my style, the former definitely so, as you know from knowing me, and reading my blog.
Snowing here, haven't seen the garden properly for a couple of weeks now, and really, I think we have had enough now thank you....
